
For the Austrian journalist Dr. Andreas Unterberger (68) Israel is a hot topic. “Anyone who has formulated even one positive sentence regarding Israel in recent years usually meets with blank incomprehension. Israel is the only democracy in the whole of the Middle East that deserves to be called such,” the former editor-in-chief of the Austrian newspapers Die Presse (1995-2004) and Wiener Zeitung (2005-2009) wrote on his blog many years ago. For his journalistic work, this author of five books twice received the Austrian State Prize, along with other awards. In addition Unterberger was named Journalist of the Year in 2010. Since 2009 he has been a freelance reporter.
