It’s hard not to wonder if Israel has become a US protectorate in recent days—or perhaps de facto the 51st American state. Some are already calling the new US policy “Bibi-sitting.” Or maybe a basketball analogy fits better: The Americans have switched to aggressive man-to-man defense. They won’t allow Netanyahu to blow up the ceasefire. That’s why they’ve decided to keep high-ranking representatives in the country around the clock—to not leave Israel to its own devices for even a single minute.

It started with the visit of envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are managing the whole thing. This was followed by the historic visit of US President Donald Trump, who set the vision and goal: end the war at any price and bring home the hostages. Then Witkoff and Kushner returned, followed by US Vice President JD Vance, and on this Thursday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected.

    Unfortunately, the “so-called” peace treaty is coming out of its closet and revealing itself for what it really is: a business deal. The peace of Jerusalem was never the goal. Gaza has oil deposits off its coast and is positioned as a strategic trade route. May HaShem thwart these plans! We now have Israel in the precarious position of bowing to other interests. Unlike Eric Trump’s statement that his father saved God, God alone WILL BE Israel’s salvation.
