Israeli News Anchor Demolishes Rashida Tlaib

US Congresswoman’s two-faced Hanukkah greeting was not well received

She’s a true Palestinian politician.

US Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has mastered the art of speaking out of both sides of her mouth, a trait shared by the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah.

For years she has railed against the so-called Israeli “occupation” of so-called “Palestine,” from which her parents emigrated many decades ago.

But this week, Tlaib made sure to wish a “Happy Hanukkah” to all her potential Jewish voters.

At least one Israeli TV anchor tore Tlaib to shreds over that disingenuous holiday greeting.

As the i24 anchor explained, Hanukkah celebrates restored Jewish sovereignty over the very territories that Tlaib now claims Israel occupies illegally.

She likewise stressed that Tlaib’s acknowledgement of the events marked on Hanukkah would seem to contradict the Palestinian narrative of which she sees herself as a champion. The Maccabean Revolt commemorated on Hanukkah occurred in 165 BC, centuries before the Romans renamed Judea to “Palestine” to insult the defeated Jews.

Acknowledging Hanukkah means you acknowledge a long and deep Jewish history in this land that goes back millennia before anyone anywhere was calling themselves “Palestinian.”
