One Israeli was killed and two more were wounded in a Palestinian terrorist truck ramming attack north of Jerusalem on Thursday morning.

The attack occurred on Highway 443 that connects Jerusalem to the city of Modiin and on to Ben Gurion Airport. As the driver approached the Maccabim Checkpoint just outside Modiin, he spotted three young soldiers crossing the lane as they inspected vehicles, and he hit the gas.

The terrorist sped through the checkpoint and continued on toward Modiin and then turned north toward the small nearby cluster of Jewish settlements, apparently with the intent of ramming more soldiers at the Hashmonaim Checkpoint.

But soldiers from the first checkpoint quickly informed those at the second of what had happened and they were prepared. The terrorist was shot dead as he approached Hashmonaim, but not before he rammed an Israeli vehicle, lightly wounding three more people.
