Among those participating were former Israel Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
The initiative calls for strengthening security around the world. To this end, it urges Western countries to respond to the growth of right-wing extremism and nationalism. It’s not only Israel that’s struggling to preserve an impartial legal system and true freedom of the press. Said Livni during the proceedings: “At a time when globalization has brought the values of democracy to many new places in the world and created with it much prosperity, new challenges for countries, societies and democratic values are emerging.”
According to those in attendance, religious terrorism is not the only challenge facing the world. Globalization has left many people behind, and thereby spawned a lot of animosity.
