In a long address delivered on December 7 at the Foreign Ministry’s 2025 Ambassadors’ Conference, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented Israel as a major power:
“The world is changing rapidly. It is undergoing tectonic shifts, and in such a world there is one very simple rule: you have to be very strong. You make alliances with the strong; you make peace with the strong. The strength of the State of Israel is the primary component of our ability to deter enemies and attract friends. That is not always obvious at first; it becomes clear after some time, once the dust has settled and the commentators have finished their learned analyses. Suddenly everyone sees that Israel is a state stronger than ever before, a regional power and, in some areas, certainly a global power. That is the result of things done here. Precisely in the most severe trials, we have increased our security strength. Everyone understands this. We have increased our economic and diplomatic strength.”
