A new public opinion poll published by the daily newspaper Israel Hayom reveals that if elections were held today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing Likud Party would further strengthen its hold on power.

Early elections are once again a very real possibility amid a handful of serious corruption investigations into Netanyahu and his close associates.

But the prime minister's possible wrong-doing seems to not have hurt his chances at the polls in the slightest.

According to Israel Hayom, if elections were held now, Likud would win 34 out of the Knesset's 120 seats.

The next largest party would be the centrist Yesh Atid with 20 seats, while the current opposition leader, the Zionist Union (Labor), would drop to just nine seats.

Also losing out big time would be the Joint Arab List, falling from its current 13 seats to just 11, and the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, which would drop from seven to just four seats, putting it just barely over the electoral threshold.
