A well-known elderly left-wing Israeli activist was robbed of her car by Palestinians in the Jordan Valley at the weekend.

Hagar Gefen, 71, drove to the Jordan Valley on Saturday with the group “Looking the Occupation in the Eye” to “protect” Arab shepherds from alleged “settler violence” in the region, the Ynet news portal reported on Sunday.

On her way back from the pro-Palestinian demonstration, Gefen stopped at the Petsa’el junction on Route 90 near the Israeli community of Ma’ale Efraim. A group of Arabs showed up, forcibly dragged her from her vehicle and fled towards Nablus in central Samaria.

Security forces arrived at the scene and began an investigation, Israel’s Channel 14 News reported, noting that the left-wing activist refused to file a police report.

Video footage of the incident was shared on social media.

Between the start of the war against Hamas on October 7 and November 7, Israeli police recorded 97 incidents of illegal activity attributed to Jews in Judea and Samaria.

A leaked Israel Defense Forces document also suggests a decline in Jewish anti-Arab violence in Judea and Samaria.

Between October 7 and January 15, the Judea and Samaria rescue organization Hatzalah recorded more than 2,600 Palestinian terrorist attacks in the region, including 760 stone-throwing incidents, 551 acts of arson, 12 attempted or successful stabbings and nine carjackings.
