Meir Tamari, a resident of northern Samaria, was fatally wounded in a terrorist shooting on Tuesday morning.

The attack occurred near the Israeli town of Hermesh in Samaria, when a terrorist in a passing vehicle opened fire on Tamari and a nearby guard post.

Tamari was airlifted to a nearby hospital, but died of his injuries shortly after.

He leaves behind a wife and two young children.

It was also later revealed that Tamari has a family connection to Esther Horgen, who was brutally murdered by Palestinian terrorists in late 2020 while out for a hike in northern Samaria.

After losing Esther, her husband Benjamin Horgen later remaried. His second wife is the mother of Meir’s now-widowed wife.

Israeli security forces continue to hunt down the perpetrators of Tuesday’s shooting, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to settle accounts with them.
