The Bible can be described as the foundation of the three monotheistic religions. For Christianity, in addition to the New Testament, the Old Testament is also sacred. In Islam, the Koran is considered by Muslims to be the last testament.
Chronology
Biblical stories and names can be found in the Koran, albeit in a different chronology. However, biblical events and characters are often portrayed differently than in the Bible.
Although Muslims do not accept the Bible as a holy book, they believe that Moses – Mussa in Arabic – was a prophet and that God gave him the Torah as the word of God from heaven. In their eyes, the biblical words of the five books of Moses are said to have been twisted or destroyed over the generations. So the Bible was changed and therefore became untrue.
The biblical heroes who appear as prophets in the Koran are basically all defined as Muslims, not Jews. Their task is also not like that in the Bible, in which they present visions and promises, but rather they are messengers of Allah.
