The “Shirat HaRo’im” Fromagerie at Kibbutz Lotem

Judges awarded Shirat HaRo’im fromagerie the Super Gold Medal in one of the world’s most important competitions in the cheese industry.

“Shirat HaRo’im” fromagerie was placed in the top 16 of the world’s fromageries after earning this award he world rankings by this award, which can also be called the Oscar of the cheese industry.

The cheeses are of high quality, unique and are produced using traditional methods, with only natural ingredients, earning this highest recognition in one of the most prestigious competitions. On a visit one can observe the clean and sterile factory, the professional equipment and the cheese rounds through the glass walls, while watching the cheese maker Michal Mor and her cheese making team hard at work. In the onsite shop a large selection of cheeses are offered for sale.

There is also a restaurant area where you can choose and order meals from a gourmet menu based solely on the selection of 28 different varieties of Michal’s fine cheeses. You can order cheese platters, salads, fondues, quiches, pasta, sandwiches and desserts. In addition to the cheeses, wine from the neighboring winery Lotem, alongside beer from a local brewery, pure honey from the local farmers, aromatic olive oil and more are served.

Founder and boss of the fromagerie, Michal Mor (pictured), is considered an expert in the cheese world, and is also in demand as an international judge in prestigious competitions. She spent several months in Switzerland where she learned from the local cheese makers and then perfected the art of cheese making.
