The danger of a multi-front war in the Holy Land has recently come into focus again with simultaneous threats from Gaza in the south, Lebanon in the north and Syria to northeast. All three fronts are made possible by financing and the supply of weapons from Iran. On the Lebanese border, Israeli citizens have been reporting suspicious underground noises for years. Israeli intelligence bodies admit to knowing about Hezbollah terror tunnels in the north for about two years, but insisted it was crucial to “play dumb” until now. But the game is now over, and in early December, Israel launched “Operation Northern Shield” along this volatile frontier.
