Hamas is losing militarily, but it may have achieved a strategic political victory. The objective was never to defeat the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) but to shift the narrative surrounding the Palestinian cause back into the global spotlight.
Despite initiating the conflict, Hamas has successfully maneuvered the narrative to portray Israel as the aggressor. The horrific events of October 7th quickly morphed into a broader debate about Israel’s military actions, overshadowing the initial attack.
This manipulation is not merely a tactical gain for Hamas but reflects a longstanding trend in which the international community often holds Israel accountable for the consequences of a conflict it did not initiate.
The world’s selective outrage demonstrates a hypocritical double standard. While Israel is expected to conduct warfare with an unrealistic level of restraint, Hamas’s tactics are often overlooked.
For believers, there is a spiritual dimension at play, too, linking Israel’s isolation to biblical patterns where trust must ultimately be placed in divine rather than human solutions.
