But words are one thing, and often actions speak louder than a thousand of them, or so the saying goes. A recent incident, which was by no means unique, demonstrated just how true our past interviewees spoke. In fact, they might have been downplaying the situation a bit, perhaps out of a fear that Hamas would learn they had spoken to us, an Israeli news agency.
As to that recent incident, it involved a Palestinian man being arrested by Israeli forces in November after penetrating the Gaza security fence and setting fire to a greenhouse in Moshav Netiv Ha’asara, a small Israeli village in the Gaza periphery. Nothing particularly interesting to see here. But then Israeli investigators dug a bit deeper and realized this man had conducted similar infiltrations on seven separate occasions since 2012. Each time, he had been captured and sent back to Gaza.
