Will Germany (and America) Finally Wake Up?

The West continues to bankroll the Palestinian Authority to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, despite its Holocaust-denying, terror-supporting ways.

Holocaust revisionism is part and parcel of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' nationalist ideology. So why does the West continue to treat him as anything but an extremist?

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas sparked widespread outrage this week when he claimed that Israel has carried out repeated “holocausts” against the Palestinian Arabs.

Following the global uproar, Abbas clarified that he wasn’t denying the Nazi Holocaust against the Jewish people (though he has in the past also done that), but declined to actually apologize, and instead reiterated his charge that Israel routinely massacres his people.

What was truly striking about this affair wasn’t Abbas’ comment. It was the international reaction.

You see, Abbas has been saying this, and worse, for decades.

It’s only now, because he said it in English (at least the “holocaust” bit) on German soil, that everyone is taking notice.

The truth of the matter is that this “shameful” comment and “monstrous lie,” as Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid labeled it, is entirely reflective of foundational Palestinian Authority (read: PLO) ideology, and always has been.

Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority, and in particular his own Fatah faction within it, has a long history of comparing Israel to the Nazis, as documented by Palestinian Media Watch.

For Abbas to “compare Israelis to Nazis and Israeli policies to the Holocaust is fundamental to PA/Fatah ideology,” noted PMW in its latest report. “It was not a slip of the tongue.”

Perhaps now that these long-held positions have been spewed in such a grotesque manner from the Federal Chancellery in the heart of Berlin, the West will finally wake up to the real obstacle to peace in the Middle East.

Perhaps now Germany and the US will come to their senses and stop pumping hundreds of millions of dollars annually into a Holocaust-denying, terror-supporting entity that has no desire or ability to build and govern a functioning independent state, and certainly not one that will live in peace with neighboring Israel.

These are the amounts of money Western nations (your nations) are currently providing the Abbas regime on an annual basis:

  • United States – $500 million
  • Germany – $199 million
  • Norway – $95 million
  • Switzerland – $43 million
  • Great Britain – $26 million

None of these countries would ever dream of bankrolling an Al Qaeda movement to establish an independent state. Maybe now they begin to realize that financing the Palestinian Authority (which is really just a new coat of paint on the old PLO, the premier global terrorist organization of the 1960s, 70s and 80s) isn’t all that different.
