If Israel is not careful, it will fall into a trap with the hostage release deal. No matter who I talk to about it, most security experts see it negatively. But on the other hand, the government has to decide, and that is not easy.
There will not be a single citizen in this country who will not be moved to tears by the return of the Israeli hostages, babies, children, mothers and women. The joy among the people will be overwhelming, and for the affected families it will be a heavenly relief after more than a month of hell. Every minute counts, and the entire government and security apparatus in Jerusalem decided last night to take a risk and accept the hostage deal. The difficult decision was a statement regarding Israel’s values and the government’s obligation to its citizens. And yet, despite the difficulties and concerns that we all share as a people, it is the responsibility of the leadership and the media to also point out the dangers inherent in the deal. Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader on the ground, or rather underground in Gaza, knows Israeli society better than you think, and probably better than many Israelis themselves. During his 22 years of imprisonment in Israel, Sinwar not only learned Hebrew, but above all the weaknesses of Israeli society.
Video from 2006: Inmate Sinwar speaks Hebrew.
On October 7, Yahya Sinwar completely surprised Israel by implementing a comprehensive and strategic plan based on deception. “The best minds in the Israeli security system missed the deception for all sorts of reasons, and everyone will have to answer for that after the war. Their commanders did not take seriously what the young female soldiers saw with their eyes at the border fence,” wrote Israel’s renowned military expert Yossi Yehoshua. “Senior commanders saw the big picture but not the reality on the ground, and the government was preoccupied with problems that today look nothing but idiotic and stupid.”
Just as Yahya Sinwar took Israel by surprise over six weeks ago, it is quite possible that we will allow ourselves to be taken for a ride again. Almost all security and military experts in the country who are not beholden to the government have been warning about this in the last few days. This is basically what the majority of the people feel.
The government must not accept Yahya Sinwar’s deal. Sinwar has been deceiving the government for more than a week. He started with 100 hostages, children and women. Then it went down to 80, then to 70 and now we are at 50. And Sinwar divided this release of 50 Israeli hostages into a step-by-step plan that he will play against us. It would be better if Israel did not agree to this deal. So far Sinwar has seen the massive Israeli ground offensive in Gaza, his people are being killed and running for their lives. He also saw Israel take Shifa Hospital, previously a red line for Sinwar. The Israeli army is suffocating the entire terror system and the Palestinians are fleeing south. He sees the humanitarian crisis. And all Yahya Sinwar needs now is a ceasefire. Four, five days. Such a long ceasefire could end the war in Gaza. In addition, international pressure on Israel will increase. We must not end the war now because we still have many hostages in the Gaza Strip. It would be better to achieve a complete hostages deal, but for this to happen Sinwar and Hamas must be completely destroyed.
Everything that is said about Yahya Sinwar in Gaza and Israel is true. Many years ago, when he purged Palestinian society of collaborators with Israel, as well as Palestinians who had deviated from Islam, a monster awoke in the Gaza Strip.
“He interrogated Palestinians with false gentleness over a cup of coffee, and as soon as he had finished the interrogation and learned everything he wanted to know, he killed the person with a shot to the head,” explained Middle East expert and retired general Dr. Moshe Elad, who led security coordination in the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria some 30 years ago. “Sinwar dragged collaborators and traitors tied to his car along the Salach al-Din road at 150 kilometers per hour, and he buried apostates from the Islamic faith in concrete pillars after dismembering their bodies. There are no limits for Sinwar.”
Two phenomena puzzled Sinwar. Israel’s extreme sensitivity to human life and the weakness of politicians in the face of Israeli society. Sinwar understands very well that Israeli society is on edge and very vulnerable.
And that is the concept of Israel that Sinwar presents in the hostage deal. He will market the deal as having achieved a huge reprieve in the middle of the war for just 50 women and children, two groups of people that he sees as inferior. During this ceasefire, Hamas will regroup and rearm in southern Gaza. Added to this is the release of 150 Palestinian women and minors from Israeli prisons, all of whom are terrorists and not innocents. In addition, the import of food, medicine and, as a highlight, fuel.
Sinwar insisted on a phased deal, and that is no coincidence. He will squeeze the truce lemon into lemonade by any means possible. Sinwar will find some excuse for Israel not to abide by the ceasefire and therefore he is free “not to abide by it either.” In the second step, he will accuse Israel of activating a drone to locate his location despite the agreement. And in the third step, he will ensure that the foreign media are allowed into the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire in order to show them and the world the most gruesome images of dead and seriously injured Palestinian children. Once the world sees these images, Western countries will put incredible pressure on Israel to end the war. The government in Jerusalem cannot and must not allow this, because the Israeli public will not allow it. And if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not strong enough, it will lead to popular unrest. Israel went to war not only to free the hostages, but above all to destroy Hamas.
Dr. Elad further explains that during the ceasefire, Sinwar will direct his Hamas cells in Judea and Samaria to carry out terrorist attacks in Israel and also from Lebanon in order to force the IDF to focus its efforts and firepower away from Gaza. “During the ceasefire, Hamas will exert strong pressure on the Iranians to encourage Hezbollah and the Houthis to harass Israel.”
Sinwar believes that the pressure on Israel will be successful and that Israel will therefore abandon its mission to destroy Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip, in particular the city of Khan Yunis. As a “Plan B,” he will further fortify his fortress in Khan Yunis, his birthplace and hometown, for the next phase of the war. If his plan fails, he will die there by Israeli forces. That is the promise the government made to the Israeli people, and the people expect the government to keep it.
This man takes his orders from Satan as his tool. When Satan if finished with him he will discard him to join the rest of the satanic host in the lake of fire. This man is wilfully a lover of evil and a hater of all things good and moral. While all this evil is going on, we are reminded of Isaiah’s vision when he saw the Lord high and lifted up – in his time God will move in power and with authority in judgement that the very demons will quake at the sight. Sinwar will pay in double measure for all his sins throughout eternity. Shudder the thought.
As per scripture, we should pray for the enemy.
Yes.
It is hard.
Why don’t we pray for Yahya Sinwar and his ilk, so the Lord God changes the hearts of the enemies, so they all will return around to the Creator to glorify God.
Let’s pray for them. In the name of Jesus I ask.
Amen.
Amen, Aviel. I was going to leave this comment at that but the computer said it was too short so maybe this is enough words.?
This evil person may be the straw that breaks the back of Islam by the power of the God of Israel. He is looking to glorify himself in all of this, it will not go well for him and his kind.
