The Sea of Galilee, Israel’s primary fresh water reservoir, is a mere 67.5 centimeters (2’2″) from being full to capacity. That’s something of a miracle considering the long years of drought the country experienced in the past decade.
With a fresh layer of snow falling early Tuesday morning across the north of Israel, the Sea of Galilee (known in Hebrew as the Kinneret) with soon rise even further.
More rain and snow in the upper Golan region are forecast for the coming week.
