Not militarily. The Israeli Air Force, the Mossad, the intelligence services, and the soldiers delivered. They achieved objectives that just a few months ago were considered unattainable. Iranian generals were eliminated, nuclear scientists taken out, missile bases bombed, and key components of Iran’s nuclear project damaged. And yet today we are facing a bitter reality. Because wars are not decided only on the battlefield. In the end, wars are decided at the negotiating table. And that is exactly where Israel has lost. Of all people, Donald Trump—whom many in Israel once compared to King Cyrus—is now drawing a new map of the Middle East, a map in which Qatar rises, Iran is rehabilitated, and Israel’s influence shrinks. If this course holds, then we must admit: we have taken a massive hit.
