Since the beginning of time, God has spoken to mankind through specific individuals who were given messages of repentance, encouragement and guidance for nations, kings, leaders and ordinary people.
Since Yeshua’s death and resurrection, the local body of believers was scattered in exile for 2,000 years, and since the remnant has made its home again in the Land of Israel, so has the body of Messiah.
As a Messianic Jew who has lived in the Land for many years, I have yet to come across a local believer whom the rest of the body recognized and declared to be a prophet. There are congregations that believe in prophecy and allow space for their congregants to practice that gift, others that don’t.
In a very land where prophets were a conduit for God’s messages to Israel and the nations, there is, seemingly, no presence of one to be found these days.
