Israel must not repeat the same mistake and give up on the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza-Sinai border.

Humans cannot live without a lifeline, and for the Hamas regime in the Gaza Strip, the 12-km-long Philadelphi Corridor between Gaza and the Egyptian Sinai was such a lifeline. Beneath the corridor, which Israel has recently regained control over, there was a vast network of smuggling tunnels. This tunnel system served as a supply route for Hamas, used for smuggling weapons and rockets. Israel must be careful not to repeat the mistake of surrendering control of the corridor, to anyone. There is no substitute for the presence of Israeli forces along the Egyptian border to truly ensure security.

These 12 kilometers, which were a nightmare for Israel for many years, are part of the most beautiful road in Israel, Route 10. Route 10, which runs parallel to the Egyptian border, is one of the longest paved roads in Israel, and in my opinion, certainly the most beautiful in the country, but also the least traveled.
