Following the surprising public success of Israeli singer Yuval Raphael at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE is calling for a fundamental overhaul of the rules. They claim the competition is increasingly overshadowed by political conflicts—particularly the wars in Israel, Gaza, and Ukraine—losing its cultural relevance. This is all nonsense! A cheap and idiotic excuse, because anyone can see that Spain—and likely other European governments—simply can’t stomach that Israel is more popular than they imagined or desired.
