MembersTachles with Aviel – A summit Israel slept through

While Israel is fixated on Gaza and believes it only needs to focus on the war against Hamas, the geopolitical power balance is shifting in the Far East, and we’re overlooking it.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin was no sideshow—it was a signal: China is openly forging an alliance with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, Iran’s mullahs, Turkey, and Pakistan. And India, our strategic partner, is suddenly at the table. This isn’t distant symbolic politics; it’s a tectonic shift that directly affects Israel. We’re fooling ourselves if we think the threat only comes from Gaza. In the last few days, I’ve followed this summit on various Telegram channels and realized that it was missed in Israel and the West, intentionally or not.

The Bible teaches us that Israel has always stood between the superpowers—back then between Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon; today between Washington, Moscow, and Beijing. The East opposes the West’s new world order, and Israel is right in the middle. Anyone who overlooks this is walking blindly into the future.

  1. Steven Feltovich says:

    When I was reading this article, I could only think of the words written in Psalms 33:

    12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

    13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

    14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

    15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

    16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

    17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

    18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

    19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

    20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.

    21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

    22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

    The nation of Israel is not delivered because of its own strength, wisdom, and ingenuity; it is only by the hand of God which subdues Israel’s enemies. And to the contrary, God will give Israel over to its enemies when it no longer obeys God’s commandments and covenants.
