How the growing anti-Israeli sentiment and political decisions in Europe are driving me to say farewell.

A few days ago, I wrote the words “Bye Europe” on Facebook. Two small words that weigh heavily on me. I wrote them completely spontaneously, without planning it beforehand. Perhaps it was due to the constant negative headlines from Europe that have piled up in recent weeks and months.

The growing anti-Israeli sentiment in many European countries, the announcements by several governments to recognize “Palestine,” Spain’s threats to no longer allow Israeli soldiers who served in the Gaza Strip into the country, the economic sanctions from Belgium or the UK. All of this is happening at a time when Israel, after the Hamas bloodbath on October 7, did nothing but defend itself. And yet, Israel is being pilloried.

It is unbelievable how quickly moral judgments are passed in Europe while the reality here is barely understood. What about the hostages still held in the Gaza Strip and deliberately starved by Hamas? How can Israel be accused of genocide while Hamas glorifies terror and celebrates its murderers as heroes? This distortion makes me sick.
