The IDF’s 7th Brigade has spent the past week carrying out targeted raids against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, eliminating dozens of operatives and dismantling a wide network of terrorist infrastructure as Israel strengthens its northern defense posture.

The operations come at a critical moment as the Northern Command prepares to deploy additional forces in the coming week and Israel weighs the possibility of a broader ground campaign.

At the center of the latest push was a message from a team commander to his troops — a message that captured both the urgency of the mission and the national burden now resting on Israel’s frontline forces.

“Once again we have been called upon,” the commander said. “After months of continuous combat in Gaza, we have been called to advance and operate against the enemy seeking to harm the residents of the north.”

Despite already spending so many months on the battlefield, the commander stressed that his men were no less potent today: “We will strike the enemy with determination.”

According to the IDF, troops from the 7th Brigade Combat Team destroyed dozens of Hezbollah sites during the raids, including a weapons depot, a command center, and multiple observation posts. The military said the purpose of the activity is to push the threat farther from Israeli communities and build an added layer of protection for residents of the north.

The commander framed that objective in unmistakably national terms, saying the troops were acting “to ensure the eternity of Israel.”

That phrase, heard so often over the past two years, reflects the existential reality Israel faces today.

The commander closed with a note of resolve: “The residents are relying on us. We continue together with energy, hope, and faith.”
