Israel falsely accused (again) of anti-Christian discrimination

What possible reason could Israel have for blocking Easter celebrations? The obvious answer–Iranian missiles–was ignored by Israel’s detractors.

On March 16, fragments of an Iranian ballistic missile landed on the rooftop and in the courtyard of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. More shrapnel landed atop the Temple Mount and near the Western Wall. Less than a week later, another Iranian missile directly impacted the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel quite reasonably applied the same safety guidelines active across the rest of the country (no gatherings over 50 people, and even then only if a suitable bomb shelter is nearby) to Jerusalem’s holy sites. All of them–Jewish, Christian, and Muslim.

But local Christian leaders, like their Muslim counterparts, predictably reacted by accusing Israel of anti-Christian discrimination ahead of the important Christian holidays of Palm Sunday and Easter. The real reason for the restrictions was ignored almost entirely, as was the fact that Jewish holy sites were similarly affected.

To his credit, Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa refrained from lashing out at Israel when he and several other church representatives were prevented by police from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday (yesterday). Pizzaballa said he understood the restrictions, but felt it was an overreach to deny entry to such a small delegation and would work to resolve the misunderstanding with Israeli authorities.

Others were less scrupulous, and Catholic officials around the world charged Israel with “denial of freedom worship.”

Mainstream media quickly took its queue and broadcast headlines declaring that Israel would not allow Christians in Jerusalem to celebrate their holy feasts, headlines that were grossly misleading by omission.

Those omissions, unsurprisingly, fueled outright lies, like that spewed by Spain’s shameless prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, who, devoid of all context, accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of arbitrarily targeting Christians on their most sacred days.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar noted that Sánchez is so liberal he won’t even wish Spanish citizens a “Merry Christmas,” but he hates Israel enough to feign outrage over false allegations that Christians are being kept from prayer in Jerusalem.

Netanyahu later agreed with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee that denying Pizzaballa and his small delegation entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was an excessive application of Israel’s wartime restrictions, and ordered that the patriarch be granted full access to the holy site.

President Isaac Herzog called the incident “unfortunate” not least because it provided fuel to those who falsely claim that Israel is trying to remove the Christian presence from the Holy Land.

“The unfortunate incident stemmed solely from security concerns due to the continuous threat of missile attacks from the Iranian terror regime against the civilian population in Israel,” read a statement released by Herzog’s office. “The State of Israel’s remains committed to freedom of religion for all faiths, as well as to upholding the status quo at the holy sites of Jerusalem.”

One response to “Israel falsely accused (again) of anti-Christian discrimination”

  1. Steven Feltovich says:

The ‘Christian’ terminology which is so popular on earth is simply a universal label. It has been used and misused for many generations throughout man’s invented and organized religions; and the label has nothing to do with God’s kingdom or His righteousness.

“Jerusalem boasts more than 50 Christian churches, 33 Muslim mosques, and 300 Jewish synagogues in the city. Each of the religions now coexists, and you can find religious sites spanning across all three religions, such as Temple Mount.”

So, which one of these is right? God has said very clearly in the Bible that NONE of these religions and none of their religious leaders are doing what is right in his sight.

The God of Israel has spoken…

God said to Moses: “I will be what I will be.” The true and only God of heaven and earth doesn’t need buildings built by man based on man’s ideologies and theologies to gain some form of worship.

God desires to dwell directly inside the tabernacle of men and women, who are repentant and obedient to him in everything.

God said our ceremonies and incense burnings make him weary and it is iniquity. He wants man to be obedient to his word and commands.

Isaiah 1:16 Wash, cleanse yourselves, remove the evil of your deeds from before My eyes, cease to do evil.

People reduce God’s order to human interpretation and their philosophy of what they have determined pleases God; and it is all false doctrine and it’s of great deception according to the Bible.

Religions are the greatest deception of mankind, they HAVE BEEN used by satan himself to achieve his objectives. Satan is the prince of the air on earth, and loves to use his church system on earth for worshippers unto himself.

People are puppets, moved by satan’s sleight of hand.

Satan knows the word [scripture] more accurately than humans do, because he was a fallen angel, directly from heaven’s tabernacle of the true God.

    Matthew 15:9 KJV

    Jesus said:

“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

Here’s what Jesus told us pertaining to even the [titles] used in worldly organized religions:

    Matthew 23:8-12 KJV

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN IS NOT TO INVENT RELIGIOUS PRACTICES, RITUALS, CEREMONIES, AND ORNATE IMAGES THAT WE THINK GOD ACCEPTS AND IS PLEASED WITH.

    Our Vain Tradition:

    Mark 7:13 KJV
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

    The TRUTH is:

    Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

If people are [truly] loving God and keeping his commandments, then the people are doing unto their neighbors and spouses as they desire for themselves.

    Matthew 22:36-40 KJV

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

God is not the God of religions, he is, the one and only, almighty God, who commands men and women everywhere to worship him in “Spirit and in Truth.”

    John 4:24 KJV

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

    Obedience is better than sacrifice.

    1 Samuel 15:22
“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
