This Passover does not feel like other nights. The table is set. The familiar things are there. But the room is quieter this year. Seats are empty. Our children are at war.
Still, we begin as we always do. “This is the bread of our affliction…” The words are known, but tonight they land heavy. We are again in a place where fear is tangible, and the future unclear.
We tell our story as memory, but tonight as present. This year we understand more of what that night is about. The Torah does not give us this night so that we can remember what happened to them. The symbols on our table are not explanations. They are instructions.
Passover asks a harder question than how we will get through this. It asks what kind of people we will be when we do.
Bitter herbs: Evil is real
The bitter herbs are not only explained. They are eaten. The eyes water. The taste lingers. This is not a symbol we observe. It is something we...

Is the Old Covenant Passover to be Remembered by the Jews?
EASTER was celebrated by Herod while he was chasing rabbits and playing with colored eggs – Pagan roots.
Herod Celebrated Easter – before dealing torturously with Peter, Christ’s disciple.
Acts 12:4 KJV
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
There are many man-made religious holidays which have nothing to do with God’s kingdom and His righteousness.
The New Covenant is Jesus Christ’s blood provided directly from the lamb of God, which was sacrificed on the wooden cross at Calvary. His blood is in place of the blood of lambs, sprinkled on the Israelites wooden lintels and door posts in Egypt.
And God passed over those who had the blood on their wooden lintels and door posts; when the destroyer by death came through Egypt that night.
Exodus 12:23-26 KJV
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
Pharaoh set the Israelites free after that to pursue their promise land. Just as this historical event symbolizes a New Life of freedom, people everywhere who are held in bondage to satan’s commands and a life of wickedness can have freedom of heart, mind, and soul today.
The NEW COVENANT
Hebrews 8:13 KJV
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Jesus is our meditator which sets the captive free unto a life of liberty from this world’s traditions/religions of men, and unto direct communion with God the Father: without the requirements for any attendances to ceremonies, washing of pots, special prayers, or representatives of God. Nor are any of these any longer ordained by God. Actually God views these rituals as spiritual adultery in place of His only position within the hearts of His chosen ones.
Matthew 23:25 KJV
25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Believe and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the very Son of God, who was sent to earth in our behalf for the new Passover from our individual death sentence by sin unto eternal life by His salvation.
Praise God the Father for this deliverance by way of the New Covenant.
Jesus the Christ is now commanding all men and women around the globe to repent, and be transformed from their sins directly through the power of God.
Romans 12:2 KJV
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It’s not a call for words from the lips; but, it’s a call for daily actions from the heart, soul, and mind.
Matthew 15:8 KJV
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
James 1:25 KJV
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a [doer] of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Paul the Jew, and Apostle of Jesus Christ addressed the observance of holidays and times after preaching the true gospel to people:
Galatians 4:10-11 KJV
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
These individual requirements below are now kept by the power bestowed upon mankind through the redemptive obedience of Jesus, God’s Son, and our savior for now and until the end-of-time.
THE WHOLE DUTY OF MANKIND
Matthew 5:48 KJV
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 KVJ
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
