Those coming from Western countries have a particularly difficult time adjusting to the chaotic nature of Israel, while at the same time greatly appreciating the direct honesty and warmth of Israelis. An American immigrant recently shared the following experience on Facebook: “Today I went to the bazaar in Netanya. Like many others, I parked in the no-parking area thinking I could hurry and be back on time. When I returned, a policeman was busy taking photos of my car and writing a ticket. I said to him, ‘I’m sorry, I’m 37-weeks pregnant and I just didn’t have the patience.’
