The IDF’s elite Unit 669 was joined by over 70 soldiers from the US, Croatia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Holland and Italy. It was the largest exercise of its kind ever held in Israel.
For two weeks, the local and international forces practiced rescuing injured and trapped persons under a variety of challenging conditions. They also simulated mass casualty events, the recovery of pilots forced to eject in enemy territory, and operating in urban areas with rescue helicopters. The Israeli hosts were certain to document absolutely everything, including video straight from the field with the help of Go-Pro cameras.
