Local music producer Ali Shaa’ban has become something of a voice for mainstream Israeli Arab sentiment during the current conflict. In a series of social media posts, Shaa’ban has explained why he as an Arab stands with Israel and against the Jewish state’s antagonists, even amidst the harsh realities of the Gaza war.
That much of what Shaa’ban says resonates with local Arabs is evident not only in the high number of views and positive engagement with his social media posts, but also in the fact that Hamas has utterly failed to convince the Israeli Arab population to join its “Al Aqsa Flood” against the Jewish state.
On his social media channels and his podcast “Voice of Hope,” Shaa’ban urges fellow Arabs to choose life and peace, but emphasizes this is only possible by acknowledging truths that his people have long denied.
