Prof. Hossam Haick of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa has won the European Commission Innovation Prize for his development of the SNIFFPHONE.

The device leverages nanotechnology to analyze particles in a person’s breath, enabling it to provide precise diagnoses of a wide range of diseases and medical conditions. It can even catch certain types of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases in their early stages.
