Let’s visit Israel’s southern Mediterranean coast and the city of Ashkelon and the Bar Kochba Promenade.
The boardwalk in Ashkelon is located north of the Ashkelon Yacht Marina. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and shops situated along the promenade as well as being adorned by many sculptures, some of which also function as playgrounds for the kids.
The Holiday Inn’s unique architectural shape, situated at the end of the promenade, is not to be overlooked.
More information about Ashkelon is available here.
Ashkelon’s beach is also worth spending time on on any visit to the city.
The Ashkelon National Park, which is situated on the coast in the south of the city, hosts a treasure trove of ancient archeological finds. Ashkelon is one of the oldest cities in Israel with a history that goes back almost 5000 years.
