Since October 7, 2023, there have been two kinds of everyday life in Israel. The old one – with work, studies, household chores, appointments, bills. And the new one – with news of fallen soldiers, hostages, missile alerts, and personal stories that are hard to forget. Both are happening simultaneously. And we continue to live – somehow.
Our youngest son is studying at a music school. He sings, rehearses, and records. While we watch the news at home, he sits in class with the niece of Eli Sharabi, who was held hostage by Hamas for months. Eli’s brother, Yossi, was murdered in captivity. This proximity to events is everywhere here. It’s not just distant headlines; it affects the people we meet. At school, at home, on the train.
Our daughter goes to work and also attends continuing education courses. She does her work conscientiously and thinks about the next steps in her life. During her internship at the School of Design, she had a colleague who, along with her...

God offered Israel deliverance from Egypt through the shed blood of a lamb applied to the doorposts of their homes (Exodus 12:7, 13); in the same manner, God offers us deliverance today through the shed blood of His Son, Christ Jesus, applied to our hearts by faith. (Hebrews 1:1-3; 7:25)
