International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world in a discourse about achievements, rights and breakthroughs.

In Israel, it takes on a special dimension. In Israel, women are faced with a complex reality of life in which they are required to simultaneously maintain many worlds: a demanding career, intensive parenting, relationships, mental resilience and often a tense wartime reality.

The last few decades have brought with them a profound change in the status of women. Women now lead systems, initiate transformations, manage organizations and influence the public agenda. But alongside the achievements, another question is becoming more acute – not only what women manage to achieve, but how they manage to remain whole and balanced in the midst of the “race.”

More and more female voices are speaking today not about “accomplishing it all”, but about the need for balance. It’s about recognizing the cycles of life, periods of intensive action alongside moments of convergence, external development and internal awareness. In this sense, the new female discourse in Israel is moving away from the image of the indestructible...
