This slogan from a Christian missionary campaign is currently circulating in Israeli digital media. The picture above shows the advertisement on one of Israel’s largest news portals, Walla, above the headline of Vladimir Putin announcing the mobilization of 300,000 Russian reservists for the war in Ukraine.
Messianic and Christian missionary organizations are increasingly using digital media as a platform to spread the Gospel around the country. The ad is placed on a purely Hebrew-language site, but whoever clicks on it lands on an English-language page. Jesus is introduced to Israelis in English, and numerous English-language books are available for purchase on the website. In terms of content, it is clear to every Israeli that it must be a Christian mission from the USA, because all contacts lead to America.

Anti-missionary organizations in the country are naturally upset. They leave no stone unturned to put a stop to such advertising campaigns. However, they are not legally able to prevent advertising of this kind. In addition, there’s a lot of money behind it. Christian missionary organizations are willing to pay Israel’s largest website a considerable amount for such placement.
Interestingly, the name of Jesus is mentioned here above an article about Putin’s partial mobilization, and that in the Jewish state of Israel. Many here think such a message is these days more necessary in “Christian” Europe and in Russia. Why aren’t there such ads on the biggest websites in Germany, England or other European countries? We never see advertisements of this kind in mainstream media in Christian countries. Have any of you ever seen a missionary advertisement declaring “Jesus loves you!” on the homepages of CNN, The Times of London, The Washington Post or even Fox News? We often hear from Christians how important Jesus is to the Jews. But Jesus is also important for Europe and the rest of the world, especially in times like these.
