MembersJesus is Alive and Online in Israel

Evangelism floods the internet these days, and here in Israel some are happy about it; others not so much.

It’s hard to avoid the popups, ads, and clickbait and Christian and Messianic missionaries are using these tools to point Israelis to Jesus with eye-catching headlines that use Jewish traditions and culturally sensitive language to ask, “Why not come to Jesus!”

Recently I caught sight of a colorful ad in an article about Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister, who criticizes the decisions of tourism minister Yoel Razvozov for wanting to cancel investments in Bet Shean in the Jordan Valley. From Netanyahu’s perspective, this is a political move given that Bet Shean is a stronghold of right-wing Likud voters. Suddenly, a colorful animated picture pops up showing Jesus lying on the ground as he is nailed to the cross by the Romans. “Why did Jesus have to die?” asks the headline.
