A US aerial image shows Hamas members unloading an aid convoy in the southern Gaza Strip—the truck was part of a humanitarian delivery. According to CENTCOM, the driver was first attacked, and the truck was then taken over by Hamas activists.

Video footage and military details

On October 31, 2025, the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) led by CENTCOM filmed a convoy in northern Khan Yunis with an MQ-9 drone transporting aid supplies from international partners into Gaza.

In real time, it was recorded how suspected Hamas operatives hijacked the truck; the driver was forced into the middle of the road while the truck was unloaded and driven away.

The exact whereabouts of the driver were unknown at the time of publication. CENTCOM and Israeli authorities are currently investigating the background and demanding clarification on the fate of the employee.

Humanitarian dimension and security implications

The attack on a truck specifically marked as a humanitarian delivery raises questions about the safety of aid convoys in the Gaza Strip. Israel and international partners have recently increased pressure to ensure that aid deliveries are not seized by armed groups. In its statement, CENTCOM said such actions are “a direct challenge to the rules of the ceasefire agreement.”

Immediate reactions came from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who called the incident “a mockery of the international community and a direct attack on the lifeline of Gaza’s civilian population.”

The incident also strains the recently agreed ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Israel views this looting as a flagrant violation of the terror organization’s obligation to allow humanitarian deliveries to pass unhindered. Security circles in Jerusalem emphasized that “concrete steps” must now follow if the peaceful implementation of the ceasefire agreement is not to be jeopardized.
