
Everyone loves good food, loves to sit down at the table with family or friends, enjoy a delicious meal together and catch up with the news. Eating together unites us. And this is exactly what a group of Jewish, Muslim and Christian chefs had in mind when they founded the organization “Chefs for Peace” in Jerusalem in 2001. They see in the food, in its preparation, in sharing with one another and in the common culinary enjoyment an important means of establishing contacts with others and the revitalization of values that are prized by all three faiths: food, family and friends.
The Chefs for Peace have a single goal: They want to bring people together. In food they see a bridge to mutual acceptance and peace as a delicious possibility.
