Echoing the demand by U.S. President Donald Trump, the Israeli prime minister issued Hamas an ultimatum and threatened its “total defeat.”
The US president stated a deadline of noon; otherwise, he says, “it’s going to be a different ball game.”
“If they don’t like Donald Trump’s plan, then it’s time for these countries in the region to step forward and offer their solution,” said the US secretary of state.
“I think we will see something of biblical proportion happen with [Trump’s] leadership in the Middle East.”
Hamas has managed to plunge Israel into the kind of moral dilemma depicted by Hannah Arendt in “The Origins of Totalitarianism.”
The redeployment was conducted as part of the implementation of the truce struck with Hamas in January.
