At the start of his captivity, Edan Alexander was severely tortured and beaten, according to his family. Some of his wounds from that period are still visible.

“We are on a very hard journey that doesn’t end,” said Ruhama Bohbot, whose son Elkana was taken captive on Oct. 7, 2023, and has now been a hostage for more than 580 days.

“We really need to implement what Trump told us to do,” says Israel’s national security minister.
