Watching the carpets of red anemones in all their glory in the south of Israel is an unforgettable annual experience. This year it all happens from January 30-29 February 2020.
During the Darom Adom (Red South) festival, there are blooming tours, farmers’ outings, Bible-based fragrance excursions and guided expeditions. In short, attractions and activities for the whole family.
Of particular interest is the biblical tour of wells from the days of Isaac and Avimelech under the guidance of Keren Kayemet (Israel’s National Fund). During the tour you will visit archaeological sites and hear the ancient history of the Land of Israel, from the Stone Age to the present.
Another interesting event as part of the festival is “The Army Wears Red,” in which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) brigade deployed on the Gaza border hosts citizens in a unique look at the advanced technologies used to protect the Jewish state. Visitors are given a guided explanation of the Gaza Strip and the security measures put in place in the region.
In short, there’s something for everyone at this uniquely Israeli annual event.
