It’s certainly not just Israelis who are excited to see the former Miss Israel in a new film. Gal Gadot is fast becoming one of the most sought-after action heroines. Hollywood has also noticed this and promised Gadot a star on the famous “Walk of Fame,” where, among other things, the greatest actors in history are immortalized. Altogether there are now over 2,700 stars on this street. After Natalie Portman, Gadot is the second Israeli actress to be honored there.
Haim Saban, the Israeli creator of the children’s series Power Rangers and many other hits, was recognized as the first Israeli on the “Walk of Fame” in 2017.
The always-humble Gadot couldn’t believe her luck when she found out she too would soon be one of Hollywood’s superstars. “That’s incredible. I’m so grateful and overwhelmed,” Gadot said after the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced next year’s award winners on Monday.
“I had absolutely no idea,” Gadot said, adding that the honor will inspire her to “keep doing what I love so much.”
Self-produced blockbuster
In her new action spectacle Heart of Stone, Israel’s favorite heroine plays a secret agent who must save the world from a villain. The film is scheduled to be released on the Netflix streaming platform in mid-August, and while you shouldn’t expect much new from it, it’s always a pleasure to watch the likeable Israeli throw opposing elite soldiers through the air.
In the film, Gadot plays secret agent Rachel Stone. She is a member of an even more secretive international organization with no political or national affiliation, which calls itself “The Charter” and wants to preserve world peace. However, when villain Keya Dhawan steals the “heart” of the Charter that is the source of all its fantastic technological abilities, Stone embarks on a stunt-filled, globe-trotting adventure to retrieve it.
The production company behind the film is owned by Gal Gadot and her husband Jaron Varsano.
