MembersGaza’s “Peaceful Revolution” is crushed — while the world still pretends Israel is the problem

Hamas’s crackdown on dissents reveals the obvious: Gazans need liberation from their rulers, not another round of international lectures aimed at Israel.

Hamas moved quickly this week to smother a planned protest movement in Gaza, detaining residents, intimidating organizers, and turning public fear into political control.

The demonstrations, promoted as the “June 26 Peaceful Revolution,” were intended to challenge Hamas’s rule across the Strip. Instead, according to reports, Hamas operatives deployed across Gaza, including near major hospitals, to prevent the protests from gaining momentum. Residents described arrests, street abductions, threats, and religious warnings branding protesters as collaborators — a charge that can carry a death sentence under Hamas rule.

The result was predictable: streets that should have filled with Gazans demanding a different future became “eerily empty,” as Gaza-born analyst Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib observed. Fear did what Hamas designed it to do.
