When we returned home one Saturday afternoon, Hector the dog was nowhere to be seen.

It was not like him to go missing for long especially since the other two dogs were on the balcony. As time passed, the whole family became increasingly worried and sad.

 

Eden, my daughter, began scouring the neighborhood by car. Eventually we also took a turn driving and looking for Hector, but to no avail. I knew that if he was still in the area he would have found his way home by now.

 

We finally went to bed with heavy hearts but we hardly slept. We woke up in the morning and alas, still no sign of Hector.

 

So I decided to take action on social media. I placed a “missing dog” post including a picture of Hector and asked all my friends to share it. I noticed that my post had been shared many times, so on my way home that afternoon, I imagined that Hector...
