Favorites were Boker Tov Iran (Good Morning Iran) and Shir HaTikva (Song of Hope),” Aviv’s signature hit written after the 1995 assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, calling for people to live together in peace.

“I think it is a great opportunity to show the world that Iran and Israel can stand together on the same stage and respect each other,” said Geffen, 43. “People can talk, people can make music together and it’s all fine. We’ve got no problem at all.”

Najafi, 36, who was born in Iran but fled the country in 2005, called Gefen his brother; and the two musicians concluded the concert with a long embrace.
