Iran’s dangerous hegemonic ambitions in the Middle East are finally gaining the attention they deserve following the election of the Islamic Republic’s new hardline president, Ebrahim Raisi.
From ongoing cross-border provocations in Lebanon to attacks on international vessels in the Persian Gulf to an increasingly defiant nuclear program, it is urgent that Iran be stopped, stressed Israel Defense Minister Benny Gantz in a briefing with foreign officials last Wednesday.
A day later, Gantz told the Ynet news portal that Israel is ready to strike Iran militarily if it comes to that. However, he added, “Iran isn’t solely an Israeli problem. We shouldn’t absolve the rest of the world from this issue.”
“The world needs to deal with Iran, the region needs to deal with Iran, and Israel also needs to do its part in this situation,” said Gantz.
Ignoring its own belligerent actions across the region, the Iranian regime accused Gantz of inciting conflict.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh went so far as to label Gantz’s remarks as criminal.
In another brazen violation of Int’l law, Israeli regime now blatantly threatens #Iran with military action.
Such malign behavior stems from blind Western support.
We state this clearly: ANY foolish act against Iran will be met with a DECISIVE response.
Don’t test us.
