Israel’s army on Saturday downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) about to enter Israeli airspace from neighboring Syria.
The Syrian drone was successfully intercepted by a Patriot anti-missile battery deployed along Israel’s northern border.
The drone was believed to have been operated by the Syrian army, though its Hezbollah allies are also known to possess UAVs.
It is believed the drone was on a reconnaissance mission, and was not armed.
