For the first time ever, an Israeli is the Judo champion of the world.
Sagi Muki from Netanya took the gold medal at the World Judo Championships in Tokyo on Wednesday. Muki won gold at the European Championships in 2015 and 2018.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Muki on Twitter writing, “World champion! Wonderful Sagi Muki – you bring a lot of honor and pride to all of us.” Netanyahu spoke to the champ and invited him to the Prime Minister’s Office with the medal.
