In the shadow of a political disaster, riots have broken out in Jerusalem. And Hamas is exploiting the situation to resume rocket fire

Israel just doesn’t seem to be able to live without drama. Israel is now emerging from the year-long drama surrounding the global pandemic, especially compared to other nations that still seem to be in the midst of the crisis. But now we are mired in a political drama the likes of which Israel has never seen, and which has effectively paralyzed the government for two years now. Elections two weeks ago were supposed to finally end this situation, but failed to do so miserably.

Both the right-wing bloc and the opposition dedicated to Bibi’s ouster find themselves dependent on the Arab Islamist party Ra’am. And so unless someone from one of the Jewish parties breaks their election promises and agrees to sit with the other side, no solution seems possible.
