Pro-Palestinian Activists Target University City
Unauthorized banners suggested US financial aid bankrolls alleged Israeli war crimes
Signs have been hung in several bus stops around Boston and Cambridge homes to Harvard and MIT universities in the United States protesting the assistance the US gives to Israel for her defense.
The signs claim that the City of Boston has spent more than $11 million dollars of tax-payer dollars on Israel, which is money that supposedly could have been used for the welfare of the people of Boston. The signs say, “Hey, Boston! Thanks for the Guns!” On the bottom right of the large poster is a picture of two IDF soldiers pointing their weapons ominously at what the anti-Israel image wants onlookers to imagine are innocent Palestinian women and children.
A quick intervention by the Israeli consulate in Boston led to the removal of the signs after it turned out they had been posted without authorization. Local authorities believe activists belonging to an organization called the Palestine Advocacy Project are behind the provocative signs.
