The planned recognition of a Palestinian state, right in the midst of bloody terror, weakens Israel’s position, strengthens Hamas, and jeopardizes any prospect of a hostage deal or ceasefire. “He who justifies the wicked and condemns the righteous—both are an abomination to the Lord,” King Solomon once said. And that’s exactly what we’re witnessing now: Terror is diplomatically ennobled, and democratic Israel is turned into a global scapegoat.
While the world hopes for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, certain international signals seem to achieve the opposite. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently criticized the planned recognition of a Palestinian state in September, arguing it does not contribute to deescalation but fuels Hamas’s intransigence. Rubio made it clear: “Israel has made substantial concessions. Yet Hamas rejected the latest mediation proposal on the very day French President Emmanuel Macron announced the recognition of Palestine.” For the Islamist terror organization, this is a political triumph—not on the battlefield, but in the information war.
